Owning a home is everyone's dream. 

However, this dream is especially hard to realize here in the Bay Area. My wife and I have worked hard to save up the down payment trying to find a home to welcome our first born' s arrival in 7 months.

Needless to say the process was bumpy and challenging.  We were running against the clock, we knew our child could not and would not wait. Finally our offer was accepted by the seller of a house that met our needs and checked all the boxes. 

Things took a big turn when the parents-in-law came visit. My wife's father is a very knowledgeable person.  He was one of the very few people in his generation that went abroad to receive advanced education in the West. I was also as impressed by how much he knew about the Chinese wisdom and traditions. He has always been able to help when his children needed guidance and support.  

We were so excited when they arrived and didn't waste any time in showing them the house we literally bought 3 days ago. My father-in-law knew what the house meant to us, and was excited to see it.  However, after touring the house, he looked a bit worried and started asking questions. He hesitated a lot after spending more time at certain areas in the house and the backyard. During that time, my wife and my mother-in-law were busy deciding which room would be the nursery and how they would decorate it.

My father-in-law grabbed me to the side and said "Son, I really hate to be a party pooper, but I seriously think you should get a Feng Shui Master to come and see what he would recommend." Out of our respect for and trust in him, we were fortunate enough to find Dimension Builders which offers free Feng Shui consultation. 

We called and booked a free initial onsite visit. John and Bonnie came to understand what our goals were and took measurements where necessary.  It was the following meeting that the Feng Shui Master came prepared. Cindy took her time study the house layout, toured the front and back of the property and the immediate neighborhood as well.  While doing so, she provided precious inputs and recommendations verbally.  

After Cindy's Feng Shui related updates, John was kind enough to send us a proposal including the preliminary cost estimate and rough construction timeline. By this time, we were so impressed by their no-nonsense and professional approach to our needs, we signed up with Dimension Builders.

⁠As everyone was aware that we'd have a baby coming, Juan, who was in charge of the actual building, really took care of everything.  From getting the design done, obtaining the permits, passing the inspections, keeping us informed every step of the way, and delivering the project on time and within budget. 

The over the moon newly minted grandparents had both the baby and the new house to show off. In addition to my father-in-law, we have the wonderful Dimension Builders team to thank for.
